        Look at the date, my very dear Tr[eitschke]!   It only occurred to me afterwards that the song [WoO 94] had already been composed before I met you.

        You will receive today the letter I mentioned yesterday –– and about which I first wanted to consult you.  I should be heartily delighted if it were to serve your purpose.

        I never hear anything from Pálffy.   Besides, I only go to him about what I have already decided a very long time ago.
